Fellowships support ambitious and enthusiastic early to mid-career researchers to undertake innovative new translational research projects to address responses to emerging and endemic infectious disease challenges.

Innovation Fellowships are expected to develop new, low-cost portable technologies and new diagnostic assays for diseases of livestock and humans. They support 2-year projects, working with industry and/ or appropriate partners, which are expected to lead to longer term outputs with real impact on society.

The call for Innovation Fellowships closed on 29 October 2018.

Other fellowship schemes are in development during 2019.

To encourage collaborative working and multi-/interdisciplinary approaches, Bloomsbury SET Project Grants must include applicants from at least two of the four HE partners, with clear roles in the application.

Project grants can be for up to 2 years, and a maximum cost of £300,000. An interdisciplinary approach is encouraged.
