Fellowships support ambitious and enthusiastic early to mid-career researchers to undertake innovative new translational research projects to address responses to emerging and endemic infectious disease challenges.

Innovation Fellows are expected to develop new, low-cost portable technologies and new diagnostic assays for diseases of livestock and humans. The Fellowships support 2-year projects, working with industry and/ or appropriate partners, which are expected to lead to longer term outputs with real impact on society.

To encourage collaborative working and multi-/interdisciplinary approaches, Bloomsbury SET Project Grants have to include applicants from at least two of the four HE partners, with clear roles in the application.

Project grants have been awarded for up to 2 years, and a maximum cost of £300,000. An interdisciplinary approach has been encouraged.
